Adrienne Kemp – Artist
“I am on a journey, searching for light and colour and its actions upon our beautiful world!”
Adrienne Kemp is a Kent-based artist working in a range of media to create colourful painted and drawn pieces that reflect her unique take on the world.Growing up surrounded by the stunning natural scenery of Scotland, and particularly whilst visiting its rugged west coast, Adrienne developed an early appreciation for the aesthetic that has remained with her throughout her life.
Kent Artist Captures Beauty in the Details
A self-taught artist with a passion for capturing the beauty in the details, Adrienne has travelled the world collecting the experiences and impressions that inform her art today.
From windswept childhood picnics in the borders with her father, to walks around the sun-baked fortifications of Southern France’s walled cities, or a drive along the awe-inspiring Pacific coast of California, the artist draws on her many memories to ensure her work reflects the bounty of beauty she finds in the world.
Light and Colour
Aware of the effects of colour and light on people’s perceptions and recollections, Adrienne uses both to great effect in her work as a way of communicating the experience of a place, moment or memory
Despite having juggled her passion for painting and drawing with the demands of family life for many years, Adrienne achieved a City and Guilds Level 2 qualification in Fine Art from Hertfordshire University and regularly attends workshops and courses to continue to challenge and develop her skills.
Artist Shortlisted for Open Exhibition
Working mainly from her garden studio in Kent using a selection of artistic techniques, Adrienne gained public recognition for her efforts in 2012 when her work was shortlisted for one of the prestigious Mall Galleries open exhibitions.
